1. York Minster

Also known as St. Peter’s, York Minster is one of the world’s finest medieval structures in England. Also, it’s one of the biggest cathedrals in the north of England.

The ghost walk is ideal for anyone looking to try something new. In fact, anyone who wants something spooky will love this! Today, the ghost walk starts at the Kings Arms pub and ends at York Dungeon at about 8 pm. Also, you can sight ghostly buildings such as Mad Alice and the Grey Lady.

Wander through the most picturesque street in Europe, The Shambles. The street is a bustling centrepiece that showcases books, art, and pastries. The area is home to several cafes, museums, and art galleries.

 

4. Try out delicious food

York is a great place to be for an afternoon tea experience, boasting an array of restaurants and some of the world’s fine-dining places. You can get a distinctive food offer at almost all corners of the city walls. One of the best places you can find around is Castlegate.

Betty’s has been serving tea since the 1920s and is often recommended by every tourist in York. Here, you will also find gift cakes on old dressers on the lower floor. Want to make the most of your money? Take a seat at Skosh restaurant and enjoy fabulous buttermilk fried chicken thighs mixed with hollandaise.

 

5. Museums in York

Discover loads of world-famous museums and vehicles, including the largest railway in the world, Queen Victoria’s favourite carriage, and a Japanese bullet train.

Learn about the history of chocolate in York at York’s Chocolate Story museum. Of course, the list won’t be complete without mentioning York Castle Museum.
