Lincoln: Popular Destinations, Attractions & Activities

Lincoln, the capital of Lincolnshire, is one of the best historic towns in the UK. It’s located on the River Witham and overlooks a great cathedral on top of a hill, one of the largest in England. Also, there is a lot to do here, from visiting its beautiful medieval houses to admiring the remains of the city’s Roman gates and well-preserved Norman fortifications.

Lincoln Cathedral

Known as the Three Spiers and one of England’s most important monuments, Lincoln Cathedral was the tallest building in the world from 1311 to 1549. The church in Normandy was restored in the 12th and 13th centuries, giving the cathedral a Gothic design and magnificent roses.

Look north with Dina’s Eye in a real English circle, with a slice of English, and Bishop’s Eye Masters, one of the curved maps in a medieval building to the south.

Find Lincoln Amp, a charming city wall surrounded by legends and mascots.

Unique Shopping Experience

Lincoln Cathedral Independent shops and boutiques provide a unique shopping experience on Bellegate or the slopes and roads. It is a good place to spend shopping days, close to all the main tourist attractions of the city.

Waterside Shopping Centre in the heart of Lincoln offers a variety of shops, including popular retail brands and health and beauty stores.

St. Shopping Centre Marks is an open-air shopping centre at the south end of High Lincoln Street and has a large selection of fashion and home textiles, gifts, and toys.

Cincil Street Central Market is a traditional shopping area in the city centre, near Lincoln’s only indoor market.
